What is my computer name?

When you need assistance from IT, a support agent may ask you for your computer name to remote in and offer help.  There are multiple ways to identify your computer name:

- The fastest/easiest method may be to check your computer for a label/sticker that states the name.  The naming format is usually Company - City/Department - ### (e.g. FMHC-HR-101, or FFL-NRYL-100).  This label may be on the computer itself (i.e. laptop above the screen or desktop tower), and/or adhered to an external monitor.

- If you cannot locate any label on your computer, you can look up the computer name while logged into the machine:

   - From the Start menu in the bottom left corner, type in "This PC," then click Properties on the right:

   - In the window that appears, your "Device Name" will be listed.

   - Alternatively, from the Start menu, type in "cmd" then click on Command Prompt.

   - Type in set computername then click Enter to view your PC name.
