Sending a Fax via E-mail

Modified on Tue, 05 Dec 2023 at 09:29 AM

2022 Update: Employees* of FMHC and its affiliates are now set up to send faxes via email through our new AT&T phone system.  See detailed instructions here: https://asecare.att.com/tutorials/sending-officehand-fax-messages-3309/
*Only employees who are set up with a specific individual phone extension in the AT&T system are set up to send faxes via e-mail.  If you are a branch/retail employee who does not have a dedicated phone extension assigned, please see the instructions to send faxes via your branch/department scanner instead: https://fmhc.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/47000953538
Please note that these steps are only for employees.  Customers are not set up to follow these instructions for sending faxes to employees.  If they do not have their own e-fax service to be able to send faxes via email, they will need to use traditional methods for sending faxes to the bank (i.e. a fax machine with a phone line).

AT&T e-Faxing Steps:

1. Open Outlook and compose a new email message.

2. Type the recipient's fax number in the "To:" field.  Do NOT put a 1 in front of the number; simply start with the area code.

3. After the fax number, type in @rcfax.com

4. Attach the document(s) you would like to be included in the fax, including a cover sheet with any message/instructions you would like to convey.

5. Review your email then click Send.  You should receive a confirmation email from AT&T within a few minutes.
