You may have two screens, either two external monitors or one monitor plus your laptop screen, that are showing the same image/screen and are duplicating each other.
To fix, navigate to your main desktop screen where all your icons are located. Right-click anywhere in the blank space and select "Display settings."
At the top of the window, you should see at least two large numbers, corresponding to the number of total screens you have connected.
Scroll down until you reach the Multiple displays section. The dropdown is likely set to "Duplicate these displays." Change the dropdown to "Extend these displays," then view the results.
Your two screens should now be showing their own picture, not the same screen.
If you cannot move your mouse between screens, you may need to flip the large boxed numbers at the top of the Display Settings screen:
Simply click and drag these numbers to match the exact physical layout of your screens as they are placed on your desk.
Click the "Identify" button to determine which number corresponds to which monitor.
