Sophos Central is the admin portal where our Sophos firewalls and endpoint protection/antivirus are monitored.
Currently, all IT Service Desk & Engineering employees have access to this portal, in addition to these users with Read rights:
- Core: Akbar Zaidi, Alysia Mattox, Lisa Williams
- Enterprise Systems: John Reiter, George Morrison, Serena Des Pres
- Information Security: Jon Densmore, Nick DeRusso
When you have difficulty remoting into an employee's computer by name, you can remote in by IP address instead. You may be able to easily pull an IP address from Lansweeper, but it is not always quick to update. Example: Employee is working from home on the VPN, then moves work locations mid-day and connects to the VPN elsewhere. Lansweeper would still show the original IP address from their first location until it re-syncs.
The beauty of Sophos Central is that it will always show you the user's most current IP address.
