Force Replication in O365

Modified on Tue, Sep 16, 2025 at 5:46 PM

If a change is made in Active Directory, you will have to wait for Office 365 to sync so it picks up the change. This sync can be run manually so you do not have to wait for the regular sync to occur.
  1. 1. Log in to WCLEAAD01 or WCOLAAD02

    Open Azure AD Connect
  2. 2. Start Sync

Configure --> Refresh Directory Schema --> (enter GA account credentials, @fmhc.onmicrosoft.com) --> Next --> Configure --> (ignore error about "Registration failed for your Azure AD Connect Health Agent for sync.") --> Exit.*
  3. 3. Check O365

The timer that states when the last sync occurred will not update right away. Keep refreshing and eventually it will state that a sync has just occurred.

NOTE: When a new company OU is added to Active Directory, you will need to launch Azure AD Connect --> Configure --> Customize Synchronization Options to de-select the "Former Employees" OU from the new companies so that they do not sync into O365.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: You MUST exit out of the application for syncing to take place.  If you leave Azure AD Connect open and stay logged into the server, you will prevent automatic replication from happening until it gets closed or the server is rebooted.
