Outlook/Teams Not Working Off the VPN

With split tunneling, employees should be able to use Microsoft Outlook and Teams while off the Sophos Connect VPN.


Sometimes, users may see a "sign in" prompt from these apps when off the VPN.  Typically, restarting the application, following the sign-in prompt, or deleting credentials in Access Work/School Account will fix this issue.


Occasionally, an employee might still be unable to connect to Outlook or Teams when disconnected from the VPN.  To ensure they are not classified as a "risky" user by Microsoft, check the following:

- Log into MS Entra Admin Center

- Under Protection, go to Risky Activities

- Ensure the user is not listed as "risky."  If they are, you can confirm they are safe to clear that status, then they can try again.
