Occasionally, a user may report that they are not receiving external emails to a distribution group that lives in on-prem AD (not in the cloud). This occurred in August 2024 with Accounting's faxes, which were going to Accounting-Operations@ffl.net (a dist group in AD).
When we ran a message trace, we found it failed:

If you try to follow the "How to fix it" steps, you will not have success if the distribution group lives in AD (those steps will only work if the dist group was created in the cloud).
Instead, open the group in AD, go to Attribute Editor, and change this attribute from TRUE to FALSE:

Allow time for AD to sync with O365, then faxes or any other external emails should be delivered successfully to the group.
