About the Connect2 (C2CFG) Database

Modified on Mon, Aug 8, 2022 at 1:33 PM

Transend and Transport are part of Fiserv's Desktop Suite software installation that relies on the Connect Emulator behind the scenes to transport data at the workstation level to Fiserv via a telnet connection on port 23. Components of the Desktop Suite are installed on the workstation and out in our V:\VISION directory. When Transport is launched through Cleartouch, it uses these components to run Transend and Transport.

In order for the Connect Emulator to function, it compares the workstation's physical IP Address to the IP Address that is setup in the C2CFG database to acquire the station ID and to determine the host IP for sending the data. The station ID is critical for a variety of reasons related to transaction posting. This is the design of the software at this time and the C2CFG cannot be bypassed.
