Unable to Scan to Earth

Modified on Mon, Mar 16 at 11:52 AM

These are some troubleshooting steps for when a branch location is having trouble scanning a document to a folder on Earth (G:/ drive), but scanning to email or possibly other folders works.
  1. 1. Verify the Address Book Path is correct

Within the printer's web interface, make sure the folder path in the address book matches the actual folder path.  The "earth" server name part of the path should be FQDN (i.e. earth.ffl.net as the scanner is too dumb to know where Earth lives by itself).
  2. 2. Verify that File Transfer settings are correct

Within the printer's web interface, the File Transfer setting should use the ScanRouter / scanrouter@ffl.net username and password (see KeePass). If the printer doesn't have permission to send a document to the corresponding folder on Earth, it won't.
  3. 3. Check if the ScanRouter account is locked in AD

If the ScanRouter account is locked, a user will not be able to scan
  4. 4. Verify printer DNS settings are correct

Within the printer's web interface, verify the DNS Settings for the printer are set up properly
    Configuration > IPV4 > DNS Server 1 and DNS Server 2
    Typically:
DNS Server 1 should be 192.168.100.20
DNS Server 2 should be 192.168.13.110
