Power Outage Recovery Notes

Modified on Thu, Jun 29, 2023 at 3:10 PM

After a power outage in a branch, employees will need to ensure all machines come back online.  Tellers will need to check their own computers and will likely need to turn them back on manually.

Starting 2023, the physical Cleartouch machines at each branch are being retired and replaced by centralized virtual servers, so the CT machine at each branch may not need to be powered back up to operate Cleartouch.

Formerly, all branch Cleartouch machines were plugged into a UPS to keep them online for a while after loss of power.  *After the UPS goes down and when power is restored, the Cleartouch machine should turn back on on its own (BIOS setting).

In June 2023, the scrolling sign at Lakewood was retired.  After a power failure, the sign sometimes stopped working.  You had to restart the three programs on the Venus server via the KVM in the Lakewood server room to get the sign working again.

  1. Network Equipment: Router, switch, and other devices are plugged into the UPS.  If these devices do not light up after power is restored, the UPS may need to be turned back on manually by pressing the power button on the front.
