Microsoft Teams Intelligent Speakers for Meeting Transcription

Modified on Fri, Mar 6 at 5:10 PM

Our Microsoft Teams rooms are equipped with Intelligent Speakers technology, which allows for voice recognition of specific employees who are participating in a meeting in a Teams room.  When the meeting is being recorded/transcribed, Teams can recognize an employee's voice and assign their name in the transcription, instead of a generic "Speaker 1" coming from the room.

To activate this option, you must record a voice profile in Teams:

  1. In Teams, select Settings and more Generic Ellipsis button > Settings Settings button > Recognition.

  2. Select Create voice profile.

  3. Make sure your mic is selected from the device dropdown menu.

  4. Select Start voice capture and read the text.

  5. Select End voice capture when you're done.

You can also start face recognition setup right after you're done creating your voice profile, or select Close.
