Ordering New/Replacement Teller Source Capture Equipment

Repair of existing Teller Capture check scanners is covered by Fiserv's Advanced Unit Replacement Program (see PDF attached - 5-year warranty).  It is the branch's responsibility to handle this directly.  This will ensure that the replacement scanner is shipped directly in a timely manner.

Driver's License Scanners had a one-year warranty period.  A third party could repair a broken one.  As of July 2023, IT has some spares in inventory.

The standard model to order is ScanShell 800DX.  Brand new, the cost can be $700-900+ each.  You may find a refurbished one cheaper (example: https://www.vecmar.com/products/productpage.asp?pid=21988-ScanShell_800DX).  Replacement DL scanners can be ordered from Amazon, Acuant, or other vendors.

Signature pads had a two-year warranty period (two-year depot repair handled directly with Topaz). A third party could repair a broken one. 

The pens may be ordered separately if that is all that is needed and the pad itself is still functional.

Before November 2023, in an emergency, IT was able to send out a quick temporary replacement from the Lakewood training room.  The training room check scanners were not covered by the Advanced Unit Replacement Program.  These scanners should be labeled so as not to get them mixed up with the warranty-covered scanners in the branches.  The equipment would need to be returned to the training room as soon as a permanent replacement was delivered.

Departments that use Branch Capture (like FFL Loan Service) previously used a Panini check scanner.  FFL Loan Service uses an SM1-ELITE55 scanner from Digital Check, as of 2025.

A branch or department could request that IT purchase new Teller Capture equipment (check scanners, signature pads, or driver's license scanners) for a new desk or office setup.  These devices can be ordered from Fiserv Hardware Advantage or from another vendor.
