Setting Up New Computers (Windows 10)

Follow the standard PC Setup Checklist after imaging a computer.  This includes installing printers.


Once the user logs in, do the following:

- Have them open and set up Outlook

- Run the Profile Restore from the intranet (assuming they ran a Profile Backup on the old machine)

- Verify their email signature carried over to Outlook.  They may just need to turn it back on/re-enable it for new messages and/or replies & forwards.

- Change default apps: Outlook for email, Internet Explorer for web browser, and Adobe program for PDFs

- Clean up taskbar (remove task view and Cortana buttons, hide search bar)

- Launch critical programs and ensure they load properly

- For laptops or other remote workstations, test VPN connectivity.
