Windows provides the ability to "pin" frequently used applications to the taskbar for easy access. While you can pin a Cleartouch shortcut to your taskbar, you should not pin an open instance of Cleartouch to the taskbar.
Each time you launch the portal, it immediately checks for updates and downloads any available updates. Pinning an open instance of Cleartouch to the taskbar circumvents the check-for-update process and immediately returns the sign-on page. Additionally, the "Page cannot be displayed" error may appear.

Pinning a Cleartouch shortcut to the taskbar, however, launches a new instance of Cleartouch when you select it and the check-for-update process occurs as it should.
If you choose to pin Cleartouch to your taskbar for easy access, only use one of the following methods:
• Right-click on the desktop shortcut and select Pin to Taskbar (the shortcut target should be Cleartouch\Fiserv.Cleartouch.Desktop.Startup.Bootstrap.exe), or
• Drag and drop the Cleartouch shortcut to the taskbar.
Note: Using either of the above methods to pin the shortcut ensures that Cleartouch checks for updates so that you can be confident you are using the latest version of Cleartouch and avoids any sign in errors. Verify the version number by launching Cleartouch and accessing Help > About.
