FedLine Web Services Certificate

Modified on Mon, Dec 14, 2020 at 11:21 PM

Currently twenty FFL employees are users of the Federal Reserve Bank's FedLine Advantage and/or Web Services systems. Of those twenty, ten have a personal credentials certificate installed on their local computer profile that is required to access the Web Services site. The other ten have a physical token (certificate included) for site access. A list of users can be found in G:\Shared\AppFiles\FedLine Certificates Backup.
If a user's profile is deleted or the computer crashes or is changed, their individual FedLine certificate will be lost. All current Web Services users' certificates have been backed up to the share drive in the event it needs to be reloaded on their computer.
  1. 1. Backing Up Certificate for New Users

To export the certificate on the user's computer, go to Internet Options --> Content --> Certificates. Highlight the FedLine certificate and click Export...
Follow the wizard to export the private key. When prompted for a password, enter the password used by IT for MFDs.
Save the certificate to G:\CompList\FedLine Certificates Backup, and enter the user's name as the file name.
After you click "Finish" in the wizard, it may prompt for an additional password. This will be the password the user enters when accessing the FedLine site.

  2. 2. Restoring Certificate from a Backup

On the user's computer, navigate to G:\Shared\AppFiles\FedLine Certificates Backup and double-click on the user's certificate to run the import wizard. At the prompt for a password, use the admin password for MFDs.
