Retail New Hire Preparation Checklist

The week before new hire begins (don’t wait until Saturday!):

  • Restart the computer he/she will use
  • Test logging into the computer to ensure enough free disk space
    1. Open File Explorer --> click on This PC --> check the C:/ drive to make sure it is blue, not red:

  • Verify commonly-used apps are installed and launchable
    1. Cleartouch (live)
    2. Cleartouch Training Bank
    3. Microsoft Outlook
    4. Microsoft Teams
    5. Link to Web Capture (if applicable)

 

The morning the new hire begins:

  • The new hire should already be set to “Bypass” mode in Duo so that they can log into the computer immediately.
  • As soon as they set their new Windows password and get logged in, inform IT (send an email to FMHC Service Desk) to set him/her back to “Active” mode in Duo so that the Duo cell phone enrollment can be completed immediately
  • Once enrolled in Duo, test access to all programs listed above

If the user encounters any technical issues or needs a password reset for any application, they should email the FMHC Service Desk in Outlook.  If their system is completely inaccessible, have them leave a voicemail at x7000 as that will automatically create a ticket for them.
