Installing AT&T Office@Hand Softphone App

Modified on Mon, Mar 7, 2022 at 10:22 AM

The FMHC phone system is hosted by AT&T, which provides a softphone application through which employees can make/receive phone calls from/to their work phone number through their computer without needing a physical desk phone.  This is the equivalent of the MaxCommunicator program from Altigen, our old phone server.

The Office@Hand Phone app should now be installed on all company computers, but if you do not see it installed for some reason, it can be installed manually by following the steps below.

1. Click the Start menu button in the bottom-left corner of your desktop.

2. Type in and search for "Software Center" and select it.

3. The Software Center will open.  On the left-hand side, click on Applications.

4. In the Applications section, locate Office@Hand and select it.

5. On the next screen, click the green Install button to install the application.

6. The application will install, then will be available to use from the Start menu.

Alternatively, if you receive an error message or the install fails through the Software Center, you can also install the desktop app from G:\Shared\AppFiles\AT&T Office@Hand.  IT recommends copying the install file locally (i.e. to your desktop) so it runs from your computer and not from the share drive.
