FMB Scrolling Signs

Modified on Fri, Jan 30 at 10:58 AM

Some FMB branches still use electronic scrolling signs outside of their offices to advertise to customers.

As of January 2026, Belpre no longer uses a scrolling sign.  The sign at the old branch that closed was not moved to the new renovated building.

Parkersburg Branch: Craig & Renee have handled updating the sign.

New Martinsville Branch: Joe Knowlton and maybe Lisa Lemasters have handed updating the sign.

These updates are made on an old desktop computer that is connected to the sign via some radio signal.  These computers are not on the network.

Discussions were held a while back about replacing those old computers with on-network ones, or simply installing the software on a currently-networked computer, but the signs are so old that newer operating systems may not support the software.  We are also not aware of how the computer connects to the sign or how the radio hardware works.
