Encompass "Form failure" error message

Modified on Wed, Aug 9, 2023 at 3:25 PM

If you come across the following "Form failure" error message when trying to print/generate a custom form in Encompass, follow the steps below to correct the layout settings for Microsoft Word.

1. In the Print form screen, go to the options dropdown and select Print forms with field IDs then click the Preview button:

2. Open the Word document that appears.  In the bottom-right corner, there will be three buttons (your layout options).  Select the middle button (Print Layout), and the document should change to appear like a normal Word doc.

3. Close the document.  Then, in the Print form screen, change the option dropdown back to Print forms with borrower data.  You should now be able to print, add to eFolder, and preview the document as you normally do.

This should also correct the problem for any other documents.  If you attempt this fix and it is still not working properly, please submit a Service Desk ticket for further troubleshooting.

Service Desk note: There may be other causes of the "Form failure" error, but this is one of the primary causes.
